Mana Gharun

University of Münster
Germany

Mana Gharun is a professor of biosphere-atmosphere exchange processes and an expert on the effect of climate extremes on greenhouse gas exchange between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere. In her research she applies a range of direct field observation methods such as eddy covariance, plant and soil gas exchange, sapflow and dendrometer measurements, as well as a range of statistical and mechanistic models to understand the impact of global change on ecosystem functioning, and the feedback to the climate. During the workshop she will teach the participants about the processes that govern soil greenhouse gas exchange with the atmosphere and the in-situ measurement techniques in Workshop 05.
